Prosperity’s R&D team wanted to clean-dye a denim shade that evoked the best of the 1970s. The resulting Sweet Indigo uses organic glucose – as opposed to hydrosulphites – as the reduction agent during dyeing. The resulting beautiful mid-shade plant indigo-like fabric, with a sweet green cast, does indeed remind one of more innocent times.

Before the rise of hydro sulphites, sugar was commonly used for breaking up the indigo molecule to help it bind to the cotton. Hence, Sweet Indigo is actually very close to how denim was made 50 to 100 years ago. With one essential difference: by applying it to modern machines, we radically sped up the process.
